Dean Rougas

High School:
Attended Pueblo Central High School from 1969-71...Dean was a three-year letterwinner in both basketball and baseball for the Wildcats...Rougas was the captain of the basketball team his senior season when the Wildcats went 22-1... He was the president of his class for three years and student body president during his senior year.

Achievements (High School):
● Greater Pueblo Preseason All-Tournament Team 1969-70.
● All-City Basketball Team 1970, 1971.
● All-South-Central Conference Basketball Team 1971.
● MVP Basketball South-Central Conference 1971.
● AAA Division All-State Basketball Tournament Team, 1971.
● All-State Basketball Team Starting Five 1971.

College:
Received a basketball scholarship to attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins from 1971-75...Dean received both is undergraduate and graduate degrees.

After College:
Dean played in Thessaloniki, Greece, ARIS Professional Basketball Organization from 1976-77.

Contributor:
● Officiated at collegiate level for 25 years in Colorado, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri. Levels included Junior College, NAIA, Div. II and Div. III playoff, and Southwestern Conference.
● Established a business scholarship at Colorado State University-Fort Collins for $2,000.00 yearly, entitled the "John and Amalia Rougas/Dr. James Francis Scholarship" to be awarded to a Central High School graduate pursuing a business degree. If no Central student applies, the scholarship is extended to any Pueblo student.
● Numerous contributions to Runyon Field.

Honors and Contributions:
● Colorado State University Business College Advisory Council.
● President of St. George Greek Orthodox Church Council - Rock Island, IL.
● Committee on Pipe & Tube Imports (CPTI) - Washington D.C.
