Attended Pueblo Central, graduating in 1957...Played on Central’s State Championship Golf Team in 1957.

Occupation:
Lucero worked as a physical education teacher at South Park Elementary at School District 60. He brought gymnastics to Pueblo from 1968-1994, opening the Pueblo Gymnastics School as an owner and coach. He also owned and operated Trophy City from 1977 to 2013.

Personal:
James was a life-long Puebloan and was married 57 years to his wife Janice Ann Lucero. He passed away on Jan. 31, 2022.
